Plitvice...breathtaking views

Traveled from Opatija to Plitvice National park

Well we got up bright and early, packed up and attempted to head off to Plitvice...we were off to a rocky start when our mapped route and gps insisted on taking us on a closed road. After driving around hair pin curves on 60' angle roads that were about as wide as the walkway in assiniboine park, with cars jutting our everywhere we made it out and onto the highway.

But not for long, the bulk of our drive into Plitvice was hairpin turns on mtn roads without guardrails... Gordana was feeling quite ill and could not lookout the Window...but we made it safe not sound!

Sightseeing in Opatija

Went on the boardwalk hike the full length of the Opatija Riviera.

Tour Opatija riviera by glass bottomed boat!

We started our day with a boat tour along the Opatija riviera that runs along to Rijeka on one side and Lovran on the other. Our guide also insisted that we sample his homemade stock of rakija aka slivovica! The breakfast of champions...or Croatian Canadians on holiday!
